We here at Black Mamba Coffee want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for even being here with us today! You can be anywhere in the world but you're here now, and that in itself speaks volumes.
Black Mamba was started as a way to get away from what most coffee companies are doing — ignoring the bigger picture. As you may already know, we have a HUGE coffee cup and straw polluting problem in the country.
With most Americans drinking coffee everyday of their lives, it is estimated that 25 billion coffee cups are thrown away each year and about 8.3 billion straws are thrown away at the beach alone.
To be honest, beyond recycling plastics, glass and cardboard we (Jorge and Marnel) have never really been into the whole "Help the Planet" movement. We walked outside everyday and never noticed a difference so in our eyes everything was fine.
But looking at things from a birds eye view and doing a little Google research it really put things into perspective for us.
If Major Coffee Companies Aren't Doing Much to Fix the Problem...Then Who Will?
WE will!
It is a natural human reaction to take last minute action on things. We usually never move a muscle until the day of the deadline. We cannot afford to be this way with the planet.
The world is changed by your example, not by your opinion.
Here at Black Mamba Coffee our bags are 60% compostable and 40% Biodegradable. Though, not 100% composatble (yet) we feel this is a perfect addition to the Earth-friendly family. Composting can be a lot of fun and rewarding when done right, while also reducing your carbon footprint.
Compost has great nutrients for plants because it acts as an organic fertilizer. So not only is it good for your plants and the planet but can also save you money on regular mulch!
We are here to tell you today that if you have not thought about composting to please consider it. Everything is reusable. From the coffee bags down to the coffee grounds themselves is a win-win situation!
